Modern Day Proposal Stories<\/h2>\n

With the popularity of social media, proposal stories have become a thing of legend. For our parents and grandparents a proposal story may have involved a special dinner out, or a quiet moment under the stars, but these days, that isn\u2019t the half of it. A quick online search will reveal that modern day proposal stories can involve anything from trips to Italy, the beach at sunset, secret engagement ring pictures while the future fianc\u00e9e sleeps (seriously\u2026does she really sleep so hard that all of those secret pictures didn\u2019t wake her up?!)<\/p>\n

While we believe that a good proposal story can be told for years to come, we also believe that you can make the magic happen, right here in beautiful Auburn, California. Following are some local places, with a tip or two thrown in, that might set up your own proposal story. (You can even claim that it was all your idea. We don\u2019t mind).<\/p>\n

The building itself is beautiful and makes a great backdrop for photos. The steps are dramatic and makes it easy to get down on your knee. The grass around the courthouse is a beautiful green, and makes a great place for a picnic.<\/p>\n

Pro tip \u2013 Sunset lighting is amazing and the back steps are just a bit more private, and every bit as beautiful as the front steps.<\/p>\n

The views are breathtaking during every season. Although it takes a little work to get there, hiking, bikes and horseback are all good options, the reward once you\u2019re there is worth the effort.
\nPro tip \u2013 if you have a friend willing to help out, have them hike down to the river and get a shot looking up at you at the perfect moment.<\/p>\n

The Bernhard Museum Complex.<\/h3>\n

The Bernhard, as it\u2019s locally known, is a living, breathing look back at Auburn life in the 1800\u2019s. The white columns on the front porch give a grand impression. The yard and grounds are lovely as well.<\/p>\n

Pro tip \u2013 If you take a tour, you could enlist the help of the knowledgeable docent to act as your photographer (I’m sure a nice donation to the museum would ensure that your pictures capture the sentiment of the moment).<\/p>\n

The Armed Forces Pavilion & Community Garden<\/h3>\n

Although this garden in the middle of Downtown Auburn was created to help and to honor our veterans, it is indeed, open to the public. Its serenity is felt the moment you enter the garden. If you or your future fianc\u00e9 are veterans, you have parents who are, or if you just love the idea of proposing in this revered place, the beauty and the spirit of the garden will be an inspiring start to your lives together.<\/p>\n

Pro tip \u2013 To support the healing efforts of the garden, engrave able bricks are sold as a fundraiser. What better way to commemorate your engagement than with a brick with your names and engagement date.<\/p>\n

Sierra to the Sea Mosaic at the Auburn School Park Preserve<\/h3>\n

The mosaic is part of the Auburn School Park Preserve that sits, nestled under the trees, behind City Hall. If you\u2019d like your proposal to be surrounded by art and beauty, this is your place!<\/p>\n

Pro tip \u2013 There are many hidden details in the mosaic river. While your future fianc\u00e9 is looking at the river, seize the moment to assume your proposal position, get the ring out and warm up your voice.<\/p>\n
